Graphic Design

The design effort generally occupies the most time in the vehicle wrap process. Depending on many factors such as the complexity of the design, style of vehicle, and wishes of the client with regard to involvement in the process, design can take anywhere from 5 to 40 hours. Designing graphics which must be specially cut and contoured to fit unusual parts of custom vehicles, can take a little longer.

Development

Once the designer has created something both fabulous and feasible, an electronic or printed proof of the wrap is created. This proof is sent to the customer for final approval. We ask our customers to examine their proof very carefully for any changes you may like made and let the designer know as soon as possible. While we’re happy to honor changes requested following this final approval, doing so will delay the process and add significantly to the original quote.

There are six steps to creating our fabulous results: designing, proofing, printing, installing, inspecting, and educating/delivering.

The Process

There are six steps to creating our fabulous results: designing, proofing, printing, installing, inspecting, and educating/delivering.

Design

The design effort generally occupies the most time in the vehicle wrap process. Depending on many factors such as the complexity of the design, style of vehicle, and wishes of the client with regard to involvement in the process, design can take anywhere from 5 to 40 hours. Designing graphics which must be specially cut and contoured to fit unusual parts of custom vehicles, can take a little longer.

Proof

Once the designer has created something both fabulous and feasible, an electronic or printed proof of the wrap is created. This proof is sent to the customer for final approval. We ask our customers to examine their proof very carefully for any changes you may like made and let the designer know as soon as possible. While we’re happy to honor changes requested following this final approval, doing so will delay the process and add significantly to the original quote.

Print:

When the design is proofed and ready to go to print, we produce the finished design on vinyl sheets up to 60‐inch‐wide using a large‐format, solvent‐based printer which produces extremely high resolution images. The prints are then laminated with the same high quality clear vinyl to protect the design once installed. For large jobs, such as buses and 18-wheelers, multiple panels are printed and very carefully pieced together during the installation process. Following printing, the wrap product is set aside for 12 to 24 hours to “gas out.” This prevents the vinyl from bubbling or wrinkling during application.

Install:

Prior to installation all vehicles are very thoroughly cleaned utilizing a high‐pressure car wash with powerful detergents to remove road grime and debris. Necessary ornamental trim work is carefully removed from the car. Then our installers carefully align the vinyl panels to ensure proper fit before they begin to apply them to the vehicle.

If there are any question at all regarding the placement of the graphics, the designers are on-hand to confer with the installers. Once sure of placement, the installers (it’s a team effort!) place the wrap onto the vehicle almost like a super large piece of shelf paper. They then use a small heat-gun tool to gently stretch and reposition the vinyl. Any trimming around windows etc. is performed and any items removed prior to the wrap product being applied are carefully reinstalled onto the vehicle.

Inspect:

Before the wrap is considered complete, the senior member of the installation team will carefully inspect the vehicle (or wrapped surface) for any slight imperfections which will be addressed prior to delivery.

Educate/Deliver:

We are proud of the wraps we produce and it’s important to us that we help you to get the most of your investment. This includes letting you know how best to care for your vehicle now that it is looking so great. When you pick up your vehicle, we will take the time to tell you the best way to clean and care for your vehicle now that it is sporting a great wrap. In a nutshell, we recommend regular hand washing with mild soap and water. We also recommend avoiding high-pressure or bristle-based car washes as well as waxes that might dull, or delaminate the wrap’s adhesion. And as with any car, your wrapped car will benefit from being kept away from hail, bird droppings, and ongoing direct sunlight.
